Interview with Tariq Ramadan

Tariq Ramadan, a Muslim theologian  whose grandfather is one of the founding members of the Muslim Brotherhood, told BBC World News that Egypt is on the verge of returning to a 'Mubarak style' era.

"Mohamed Morsi is due to be charged with new accusations while Mubarak is going to be freed. This is something which is a coming back to a Mubarak's era."

"Burning of churches is something which could've been done by the intelligence. We have no proof that it is the Muslim Brotherhood who is doing this."

Professor Ramadan added that he does not believe that its members are behind the recent attacks on Coptic churches.

The real question is: "Is the West ready for democracy in the Arab world, because in the end, the United States is supporting the army" and not "will the West ever accept a democratically elected Islamist government."
