Terror groups employ propaganda methods that are reminiscent of the Nazis', opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday.
"For a person to smash a baby's skull he needs to be brainwashed. This is what happened in the Nazi movements, the Islamist movements and the Communist movements at the time," he stated during a conference at Bar Ilan University commemorating 100 years since the birth of Lehi leader Avraham (Yair) Stern.
In order to fight the terror groups, they should be prevented from maintaining ties with Muslim countries, Netanyahu stated.
"The claim that terror cannot be fought is absurd and unfounded. Terror has always relied on the solid support of countries and organizations, and it must be withheld the aid granted to it by the Islamist states."
'Irgun Didn't Target Civilians'
The Likud leader hinted that terrorists groups are incapable of negotiating with democratic regimes.
"Those who systematically use terror, like the Palestinian terror groups, do not usually comprehend regimes founded on freedom that honor human rights, but rather tyrannical regimes that use terror both against us and against their citizens," he said.
In his speech, Netanyahu referred to historic claims that the Irgun movement was itself involved in terrorist actions, claiming that throughout its operations, the group had always refrained from targeting civilians, with the exception of the bombing at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem in 1946.
"Those who followed in Avraham Yair Stern's footsteps became members of the democratic Israeli parliament, while those who followed in Haj Amin al-Husseini's footsteps continue the murderous terror war to this day," said Netanyahu. "When we witness a terror attack, we know that if they could they would have murdered us all."
