Is the ongoing war in Syria fueling a sectarian conflict beyond its borders? As Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shia Muslim movement, fights to defend the Assad regime, Sunni clerics, in and outside the country, are calling on their followers to join the fight against it. Beyond Syria, sectarian tensions are rising in Lebanon and Egypt after a series of violent clashes and murders. We look at what’s driving sectarianism in the Middle East - politics or religion?
