Fear and darkness surrounding me
Woe, my heart grows heavy
That I had to leave home and wife

That the fist of war is devastating the land

Fire shines in darkest night,
waiting for the day of battle.
Clouded eyes under the stars
looking frozen and empty
telling the power of the world
Burden of mankind, dark and heavy.

Where your mouth is laughing for me
I am every night
When the souls go wandering.

Heavy as lead, so cold and grey
the sleep is sinking upon my head
in dreams it leads me to the place
where I can dwell in peace
where the sun and the earths power
is granting life to everything.

I'm waking with the morning dawn
The day of battle gives me a cold shiver
Soon, the enemies’ warcry will sound
murdering, we will pass away.
When I look into the eyes of death
