LYNN, Mass. - A man pulled his estranged girlfriend into an elevator in the office building where she worked and set off a homemade bomb, killing them both, authorities and witnesses said.

Authorities found the bodies of a man and woman inside the elevator after the explosion, and police were investigating it as a murder-suicide.

"This is a domestic violence situation - once again we have an ugly specter of domestic violence here in Massachusetts," Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said.

What Is Domestic Violence?

The crime of domestic violence occurs when a woman is forced to do what her abuser wants through verbal, physical, psychological, or sexual violence.

What does Terrorism Mean?

The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

The Commonalities In Both Definitions:

1. Force (verbal, physical, psychological).
2. Achieving goals through: Coercion, Intimidation, Violence.

Note: The terrorism definition stated that the goals are "Often" ideological or political. But, those are NOT the only reasons.

We have the illegal production, possession of, and use of an explosive in a public place, which could have put many more lives in Jeopardy.

We have the deliberate destruction of public property.

We have hostage taking.

We have a deliberate and calculated act of murder and mayhem.

So, why was this act classified as an act of "domestic violence," and NOT terrorism?

Are they trying to keep our image squeaky-clean?

Because, us American don't commit acts of domestic terrorism (as well as internationally), on a regular basis!

Or do we?

I guess it really ISN'T considered terrorism, if a Muslim didn't commit it!
