The People's Daily Online reports that Chinese scientists have successfully created brain implants for pigeons that can enable people to control their flight by remote control.
"It's the first such successful experiment on a pigeon in the world," said the lead researcher, who hopes the work will have "practical use" in the future.
Similar experiments have been conducted by other countries in the past. In the US, for example, the Pentagon once attempted to develop remote controlled sharks whose movements would also be guided using brain implants.
