This is the point from which I could never return, And if I back down now then forever I burn. This is the point from which I could never retreat, Cause If I turn back now there can never be peace. This is the point from which I will die and succeed, Living the struggle, I know I'm alive when I bleed. From now on it can never be the same as before, Cause the place I'm from doesn't exist anymore [Immortal Technique]

On August 4, Israeli air strikes killed 28 Syrian fruit pickers in Qaa, Lebanon. A total of 33 bodies were recovered. The body count included 16 children.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry sent a letter to the UN Secretariat and UN Security Council saying that Israel had "intentionally" bombed the civilians in the Christian city of Qaa.
The American media has largely ignored this massacre, choosing instead to focus on the newest destruction of Lebanese infrastructure and the drama of bureaucrats and politicians.
The Arab media has extensively covered this tragic event. Both the Washington Post and New York Times briefly mentioned the story and offered no follow-up.
As the incident happened close to the Syrian border and several of those killed were of Syrian nationality, the Syrian media has focused on the human toll of the tragedy.
In the following video clip from Syrian TV, bodies of the dead are collected in a make-shift morgue. The news piece also includes reactions from the citizens of Qaa.
